Lydia Alhassan Defeats John Dumelo in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary Race

Actor turned Politician John Dumelo has been defeated in the race to become the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon.
According to the Results declared by the Electoral Commission in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency shows that actor John Dumelo has been defeated in bid to become the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency by Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan won 39, 851 votes whiles John Dumelo secured 37, 778 votes.

ABOUT THE DEFEATED NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS’ CANDIDATE, JOHN DUMELO IN POLITICS
Actor John Dumelo joined the campaign team of the National Democratic Congress in the run up to the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections which the party unfortunately lost.

Fast forward to July 2019, John Dumelo picked up a nomination form to contest in the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary primaries and Successfully became the Party’s Parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency on August 24th 2019.
He successfully launched his campaign manifesto for the 2020 Election on Sunday 18th October, 2020 promising to commit half of his salary to youth development in the constituency if voted for.
