Professor Ransford Gyampo, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana’s Political Science Department says the Leader and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama did not ask his supporters and Ghanaians to hit the street is a testimony of political maturity.

On Thursday evening, December 10, 2020, Mr. John Dramani Mahama has addressed the nation on the declaration of the Presidential 2020 election results by the Electoral Commission’s Chairperson Mrs. Jean Mensa. In the address, Mr. John Mahama says he will not accept fictional results of a flawed elections, because there is no doubt Ghanaians voted for change.

He also noted that, the National Democratic Congress will not accept anything short of a declaration of the legitimate results which points to an NDC parliamentary majority and accusesed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of a desire to hold on to power, saying there “is a redetermined plan to manipulate the elections.”

According to Professor Ransford Gyampo, Mr. John Dramani Mahama’s speech was full of wisdom, shows the muturity of his leadership potentials in the political atmosphere.

Though Mr. Mahama directly names the Electoral Commission as being in cahoots with the incumbent, cites “rigging and a calculated attempt to subvert the will of the people.” Prof. Gyampo said, he is very impressed with his resolve to get all pink sheets audited to determine his party’s next line of action.
