Mahira Hafeez Khan is a Pakistani film and television actress. In 2006, she began her career as a VJ. Khan is well recognized for her portrayal as Khirad Hussain in the romance drama Humsafar, for which she earned an award.

Khan was born on December 21, 1984, in Karachi, Pakistan, to an Urdu-speaking Muhajir family of Pashtun descent. Her father, Hafeez Khan, was born in Delhi, British India, and moved to Pakistan following India’s division.

Khan went to Foundation Public School, where she finished her O-Levels. She relocated to California for higher study at the age of 17, where she attended Santa Monica College. She subsequently went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern California. She did not complete her undergraduate degree, however, and returned to Pakistan in 2008. She worked as a cashier at a Rite Aid store in Los Angeles while studying in the United States.
