The Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mckingtorch Africa, Makafui Awuku is appealing to raise GH¢20,000 from 400 people with GH¢50 donations for Mckingtorch Sustainability Shed Project.

Makafui is spearheading an innovative initiative to create a public climate and sustainability hub for weeks now and needs more support for the project. This project, according to Mckingtorch Africa CEO has been constructed from over 300,700 recycled pure water sachet waste, transformed into 217 roofing tiles.

This eco-friendly space aims to foster community engagement, education, and innovation in sustainability, he explains.

The Mckingtorch Sustainability Shed will feature a climate library, workshop spaces for sustainability project design and prototyping, and exhibits showcasing circular economy innovations. To complete the project, Awuku is seeking GH¢20,000 in funding to acquire essential components, including books and reports for the library, art installations, vertical vegetable gardens, hanging pots, and a large LED screen.

“We are calling on 400 individuals to donate at least GH¢50 each to support the project,” Awuku said. ” Alternatively, donations of materials such as books, art pieces, or equipment are also welcome.” Donations can be made via mobile money to 0243548478. He added that after donating, do not hesitate to send him the receipt of the donation via WhatsApp.

Further, he called for business associates.

Hello everyone. Thank you for the support we have received so far from you and Pippas Health Center as we went on a journey to build the first ever Climate/Sustainability Shed from recycled pure water sachet roofing tiles. We ended up using more than 300,700 sachet waste for the project making 217 tiles in total.

The goal is to setup the space as a small climate space for climate and sustainability engagements, workshops, climate library, sustainability project design and idea modeling and prototyping and experiencing circular economy innovations.

We are left with the books and reports for the library, art installations on the entire wall, a vertical vegetable garden installation, hanging pots installation and a large LED screen setup for the space. I am hoping to raise an initial GHS20,000 for these things. You can donate any of these items if you have them. Also, if 400 of us donate at least GH¢50, we can raise the funds.
