Mason Will John Greenwood is an English professional footballer who formerly plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United. Greenwood, a product of Manchester United’s youth system, scored in a UEFA Europa League match against Astana in September 2019, becoming the club’s youngest-ever European goal scorer at the age of 17 years, 353 days. His senior international debut for England was against Iceland in a UEFA Nations League match in September 2020.
Sadly, Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of assaulting a lady, and a few days later on suspicion of sexual assault and threatening to kill. Greenwood has not trained or played for either his club or his national team since then. In October 2022, he was charged with attempted rape, assault causing actual bodily harm, and controlling and coercive behavior.
Greenwood is qualified to represent either England or Jamaica at the international level. He represented England’s under-15, under-17, under-18, and under-21 sides in youth international football.
Greenwood appeared six times for England’s under-17 side between 2017 and 2018, and was also a member of the under-17 squad at the Algarve Tournament in Portugal. In five appearances for England’s under-18 team in 2018, he scored one goal.
