Maxwell Bisala Konlan Wins Best Dietician Award 2023
Mr. Maxwell Bisala Konlan
Registered Dietitian (RD) Maxwell Bisala Konlan, Senior Dietitian at the University of Ghana Hospital, Legon, has won the best Dietitian for 2023.
He was honoured at the recently held maiden edition of the Ghana Health Awards and Honours, organized by the Thyroid Ghana Foundation.
The award acknowledges his contribution in putting together special diets for diabetics, obese individuals, individuals with high cholesterol, those requiring low salt diet and people who have no medical condition but desire healthy meals at restaurants.
Apart from his regular duties at the University Hospital, RD Maxwell Bisala Konlan collaborates with Sonia Nabeta Foundation to provide free nutrition for children living with Type 1 diabetes in Ghana.
He is also a research coordinator for COVID-19 Vaccine hesitancy among University of Ghana Students, a project being undertaken by the Public Health Unit of the University Health Services.
He has co-authored a publication on “Nutrition risk and validation of an HIV disease-specific nutrition screening tool in Ghana” Wright, L., Konlan, M. B., Boateng, L., & Epps, J. B. (2021). South African Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 34(1), 22-26.
Special awards were given to health professionals in twenty different categories at the event, which was held at Alisa Hotel, Accra.
