Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture launches Investigations into fishes washed ashore at Osu

The ministry of fisheries and Aquaculture has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding fishes washed ashore at Korlebu.
Thousands of fishes were washed ashore at Osu Castle Beach on April 3, 2021 which has got may residents of the area agitated.
Following the incident, the Ministry of fisheries and Aquaculture under the leadership of Hon. Hawa Koomson says it has launched an investigation into the cause of the fishes being washed ashore.
According to the Ministry, a team from the Fish Health Unit and the Fisheries Scientific Survey Division of the Fisheries Commission was despatched to the area and are currently working to uncover the cause of the incident.
The Ministry further added that, their initial observation of the fishes washed ashore has no wound or lesions on their bodies however, samples of the fish have been collected on ice to be examined critically in the laboratory.
The Ministry also revealed that they have collected the sea water and “the samples collected will be analysed for physical, chemical and other biological parameters.”
