The Minority in Parliament has loudly demanded for the Immediate Resignation of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Joseph Boahen Aidoo, quoting the alleged mismanagement of the cocoa sector and a worsening case in the condition of the cocoa farmers.
Whiles speaking to the media in Ashanti Region, the Minority leader in Parliament Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson showed his concerns and described the the state of the cocoa sector. as abysmal
The Minority has allegedly accused Aidoo of corruption and incompetence. The Minority has criticize the government of allegedly offering cocoa farmers a scanty increase in the price of a cocoa bag to GH¢ 1300.00
“Clearly, something is amiss at COCOBOD because we are seeing the production of cocoa coming down to the lowest in the last fifteen years, and we have also seen a recording massive losses since 2017.last year according to their own audit report, we declared a loss of GH¢2.4 billion in one year, and so I don’t see why the CEO should be in office despite these happenings, “ Citinewsroom.com quoted Ato Forson
