The President of the Student’s Representative Council (SRC) of the Mount Mary College of Education (MOMACOE), Somanya has expressed the readiness of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) to collaborate with the new Dean of Students’ Affairs in making the College great.

Addressing the student body on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the College’s Auditorium, Mr. Agbessi Kokou Loumon (SRC President) stated that, the SRC is ready to work hand in hand with the newly appointed Dean and his deputy to lift the College to another height.

“On this note, the SRC welcomes Mr. Eric Abban to his new office as our new Student’s Affairs Officer and madam Beauty Patience Addo who retained her office of deputy Student’s Affairs Officer. On behalf of the SRC, I promise them out readiness to collaboratively work hand in hand with them to lift MMCE to another level” he stated.

Mr. Eric Abban was appointed Student’s Affairs Officer, after the tenure of office of Mr. Emmanuel Aryeh-Teye came to an end last year.

The SRC President further made it known that, as part of plans to curb the rampant trooping into town by Trainees, the SRC is considering regular subscription of DSTV on campus, set up SRC Printing Press which would be subsidized and also regulate water usage on campus.

The President further called on the student body to rally behind them in making MMCE a greater college among equals.

In speech, the SRC President said, “Rev. Father, Dean of Students’ Affairs, Senior Staff Members,  SRC Executives, College Alumni, Colleague Students, Fresh Men and Women, Ladies and Gentlemen, good morning to you all.”

“It is a great privilege for me to be granted the opportunity to address this august gathering. On behalf of the SRC Executives, I thank the almighty father for His divine Care and Protection throughout our stay at home. I again thank Him for His Divine travelling Mercies granted the continuing students, the fresh men and women, as well as the entire staff to campus. You are all welcome back to campus.”

“School Authorities, Ladies and Gentlemen, the aim of this administration is to add to the positive transformation of MOMACOE in all aspects including; Discipline, Academic and ultimately the welfare of the student body. The policies for this academic year leadership are the following;”

1. To apply equal treatment to all students

2. To stop the rampant exit of student teachers from campus all in the name of fetching water, watching Premier League and printing of academic materials.

“For that matter, SRC will do subscription of our DSTV on regular basis, start the control of water usage with immediate effect and also try hard to set up an SRC Printing Press at a reasonable subsidized price for students to relieve them from the financial struggles they go through in printing their academic materials”

3. To stop littering around in order to keep the environment hygienic.

4. To organize educative and recreational activities to make students feel happy and enjoy their stay on campus.

“College Authorities, colleague students, ladies and gentlemen, to effectively implement these policies, the SRC needs maximum support from the College Management, the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff and the cooperation of the whole student body to make MOMAMCOE a very enjoyable place for us all.”
