Nana Aba Anamoah criticizes Kurt Okraku’s self-proclaimed success as GFA president

Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah has voiced her discontent with Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), questioning his assertion of having ‘overachieved’ in his role.

Taking to social media, Nana Aba expressed her belief that Okraku is surrounded by sycophants who prioritize their personal interests over the revival of Ghana’s football legacy.

Nana Aba pointed out that those praising Okraku are deceitful individuals driven by greed, lacking genuine commitment to the development of football in the country. She stressed the importance of Okraku representing the interests of the majority, who recognize the crisis in Ghanaian football and the urgent need for rejuvenation.

In a tweet, Nana Aba Anamoah stated, “No, @kurtokraku you haven’t ‘overachieved.’ Those singing these praises to you are greedy, self-seeking dishonest people. Listen to the majority who tell you that our football is in crisis. You know it is.”

Nana Aba’s remarks followed the disappointing exit of Ghana’s U23 national team, the Black Meteors, from the U23 AFCON in Morocco. The team managed only one victory, a draw, and suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat against Morocco in the group stages.

This recent setback has intensified calls from football enthusiasts for a comprehensive evaluation and overhaul of Ghana’s football system, aiming to identify the root causes of the nation’s struggles in the sport.
