Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has disclosed his heartfelt decision about Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

He aired on a KSM Show that the President should have ended/sacked Ken Ofori-Atta appointment in July 2022 but he rather instructed him through a statement issued by Oppong Nkrumah, the Information Minister where Ofori-Atta was told to commence engagement with the IMF programme which is meant to revive the economy.

According to Kwabena Agyapong, his decision on sacking Ofori-Atta is based on the promise he (the Finance Minister) gave about not seeking the assistance of the IMF in addressing the economic challenge(s) if any storms their government.

During his submission on the show, he said emphatically, that “The first thing I expected was for the president to relieve Ken of his duties, he hasn’t done that, that is his choice but we should expect very tough negotiations going forward and it is not going to be easy.”

Currently, what he (Ken Ofori-Atta) said conditional has manifested hence, the President must resign him and act swiftly to rescue the wilting economy.
