National Cathedral Secretariat responds to Hon. Ablakwa’s allegations of identity theft

The National Cathedral Secretariat has issued a statement in response to allegations made by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the North Tongu Member of Parliament. Hon. Ablakwa had accused the National Cathedral secretariat of identity theft, claiming that the church had used the identity of a deceased man to register in the United States of America.

According to Hon. Ablakwa, investigations have shown that the National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation, Inc. was criminally incorporated through identity theft using a Social Security Number belonging to a man named Jose Salgado, who died in 2014.

However, the Secretariat of the National Cathedral has described the allegations as a deliberate attempt to twist the facts. The Executive Director of the National Cathedral, Dr. Paul Opoku Mensah, signed a statement refuting Mr. Ablakwa’s claims and saying that they reflect his modus operandi of distorting information.

The National Cathedral Secretariat has consistently maintained that the National Cathedral Project has been implemented with integrity and without any criminality. They have likened Hon. Ablakwa’s accusations to those of the McCarthy era in the USA, saying that the misinformation and distortions will ultimately unravel.

The controversy surrounding the National Cathedral has been ongoing for some time, with many questioning the cost and necessity of the project. The Secretariat of the National Cathedral has defended the project, saying that it is an important symbol of Ghana’s religious and cultural heritage.
