The Ranking Member on Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC’s) People’s Manifesto is working for the ruling New Patriotic Party government of President Nana Addo Damkwa Akufo-Addo in the run up to the upcoming general elections.

According to the Ghanaian lawmaker who represents the people of North Tongu Constituency of the Volta Region in the Parliament of Ghana, the National Democratic Congress should have launched its manifesto two years ago.

Mr. Ablakwa touted some key and relevant aspect of the NDC’s People’s Manifesto saying, many of the afflictions, hardships and frustrations imposed by President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government would have long been remedied if NDC’s manifesto was launched two years ago.

The former Deputy Education Minister who forms part of the sub-campaign team of the NDC’s running mate Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang mocks the New Patriotic Party administration with the view that, the NDC policy document for election 2020 is creating fear and panic of the NPP fraternity. “What unprecedented panic, desperation & lack of principle! Rational voters must be having a good laugh at these fruitless antics.” He said.

Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in a statement intercepted by Coverghana.com.gh on his Facebook handles disclosed that, the opposition National Democratic Congress’s manifesto has crippled the leadership of the New Patriotic Party making government abandoning its own manifesto and choosing to implement the NDC manifesto with such unabashed alacrity, why shouldn’t the larger Ghanaian populace choose the obviously far supeanifesto on December 7?

BACKGROUND

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has on Monday, 7th September, 2020 launched its 2020 manifesto document ahead of the December 2020 general elections.

The Manifesto document which was launched at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) was described as the ‘People’s Manifesto” on the theme: Jobs, Prosperity and More.

The manifesto has been divided into six key areas: fixing the economy, promoting human development, providing infrastructure for growth, providing decent jobs, good governance and corruption and deepening international relations and foreign affairs.
