NIA begins registration of Ghanaians aged 6-14 years -Check requirements
The National Identification Authority (NIA) in collaboration with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has begun the registration of Ghanaians aged 6-14 years.
According to NIA, the registration is FREE. No Ghanaian aged 6 -14 years is expected to pay any amount of money to anyone under any condition to acquire the Ghana Card for.
Starting date: Date to start registration of Ghanaians aged 6 – 14 years for Ghana Card
Per the official announcement from NIA, the start date for this national exercise is 7th October 2024.
Time and Venue
As announced the registration exercise will commence at 8:00 am, every weekday in a school within your district.
Ghana Card for children aged 6 -14 years: Needed documents for registration
According to the National Identification Authority, all you need to register your child is as follows:
1. Original Birth certificate, or
2. Valid Ghanaian passport, or
3. A parent/relative/legal guardian to vouch for the child under oath 3
4. 2 social welfare officers to vouch for children without relatives.

Important notice to parents
Parents are directed (a must) to bring their children’s NHIS Card or number for data harmonization.
