Niger Coup Leaders Form New Government
The military Junta in Niger after deposing Mohamed Bazoum, the democratically elected president of Niger, has announced the creation of a new government on Thursday, August 10.
Military authorities announced the appointment of 21 new ministers on state television.
The decree states that Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine will preside over the government, with generals from the new military governing council in charge of the defense and interior ministries.

This comes after West African politicians get ready to discuss using military force to overthrow the junta, which is commanded by former commander of the Presidential Guard Gen. Abdourahmane Tchiani.
Significant decisions are scheduled to be made during the conference in the capital of Nigeria, Abuja, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the 15-nation Economic Community of West African States.
