No more NPP lies in the Volta Region – Sampson Tagbor defends hooters

Sampson Tagbor Nukunu
The Volta Regional Deputy Communications Officer candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Sampson Tagbor Nukunu defends individuals who hooted at the Vice President of the Republic Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
On Saturday, 5th October, 2022, a section of Ghanaians believed to be Anlos’ booed at Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia while he was delivering his address during the grand durbar of the 2022 Hogbetsotso festival.
In a statement, Sampson Tagbor explained that, festivals are moments for yearly review of developmental projects, initiation of new developmental strategies, assessment of the general welfare of the people among others.
That, the Anlos’ were mindful of the aforementioned importance of festivals and couldn’t have had it wrong in the Hogbetsotso festival.
Tagbor said, it is therefore safe to suggest that dignitaries and invited personalities be made to regard the Hogbetsotso festival in that same light and be more measured in their political pettiness and dishonesty during the event.

He has therefore submit with certainty and clarity of thought, that what happened at the grand durbar of this year’s Hogbetsotso festival was a genuine way for the youth of this country, to register their displeasure and revulsion about the economic hardship, high cost of living, low standard of life, high employment rate, continuous depreciation of the Ghana cedi, galloping fuel price, insecurity, grand mismanagement, corruption and the unhealthy economy that the current Akufo-Addo led NPP government had and continue to plug the country Ghana.
“If you should ask me if I was surprised by that happening, I should answer by saying NO! Because to the NPP government and it’s extensions, everything they they think, do and suggest, should always be about petty partisan politics and not the genuine concerns of the suffering masses whose tax contributions continue to feed them. They believe in a Ghana where some citizens are beneficiaries and others are victims under the same system, so it’s not a bad leadership to them when some few people can eat and declare the whole country as satisfied.” He emphasized.
Sampson Tagbor backs the angry youth by saying, “the Anlo youth are peace loving, respectful, law abiding and most importantly extremely hospitable and for anyone or situation pushed them this far, then one can agree with me that they were growing impatient to how disappointed they’ve felt and continue to feel under this government. One would have thought that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia be close to being sincere, measurable and circumspect in his utterances but as usual, he decided to do what he does best; political lies and dishonesty. So he was booed as a sign of the people’s dislike for his unacceptable conduct.”
He again said, the people of Anlo could not have allowed themselves to be insulted in such an open manner at a time they were expecting the vice president to acknowledge their daily difficulties and guarantee them some hope into the future.
“Just like other Ghanaians are experiencing, today, the cost of living is astronomically high, constant increase in fuel prices and general goods and services, so any lack of determination by duty bearers to show leadership in managing the situation will not be tolerated and hence the booing.”
“It is important for Dr. Bawumia to understand and appreciate his own comment that he made when he was not in the seat of decision making; the economy is what you feel in your pocket and your current state of living.” He justified his points.
Sampson Tagbor suggests that, going forward, the people of Anlo and Volta region will not entertain any lies from the NPP government and that indication was registered in an action by the participants of the event to signal Dr. Bawumia that they were not interested in his digitization lies and other untrue claims
“It is therefore important for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP government to begin to lead the people as it ought to have been the case and not the current mismanagement we are seeing”
“Covid-19 and Russia-Ukraine ideological battle can not be an escape route for the NPP government to run away from the deteriorating and unhealthy economy we’ve seen ourselves today. If other countries are doing better than us under the same situation, then it means the NPP government is idea fatigue and does not have what it takes to manage our expectations into the future.”
Explaining further, Mr. Tagbor said, the vilification of the people for saying the obvious, cannot wash away the reality that things are difficult today and it is the doing of this government than any other consideration.
“To the Anlos’ and the people of the Volta region, democracy does not end on the ballot paper, but goes beyond to encompass political accountability, honesty and transparency in addressing the daily issues of life that threatens their progressive existence. To them, policy failure is a serious issue and immediately you fail to honor your policies, they won’t allow you lie your way through and shirk your responsibilities.”
“If you appear before them without recourse to these characteristics, expect to be BOOED.” He stressed by backing the youth.
“A child who is hungry for breast milk must cry loud enough for the attention of the mother and that was the same situation we have today.”
Sampson Tagbor indicated that, the ideal thing to do, is for the Vice President to apologize to the people and somehow assure them of his continues struggle to get things right, and not to demonize the genuine frustration of the masses to suggest that they do not have any cause to be worried.
“It’s a fact that things are too difficult under this government to the extent that Members of Parliament are considering working twice a week instead of four times. This is to enable them save some fuel cost as a result of skyrocketing fuel prices.”
“This is the same economy in which almost every public worker is asking for Cost of Living Allowance, so what is more? We need to be serious going forward, no more NPP lies in the Volta region” Sampson Tagbor explained.
