The National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress ( NDC) Hon. Joshua Hamidu Akamba has alleged that some poling agents of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region are unduly challenging registrants at the various Polling station.
According to Joshua Akamba, he has traveled across the country to monitor the ongoing Electoral Commission’s voter’s registration excerise but when he got to the Ashanti Region, he realized that there was a lot of tribal games being played by the officials of the New Patriotic Party.

Speaking to the media after his tour of parts of the Northern and Ashanti Regions, Hon. Joshua Akamba indicated that he was satisfied with the progress of the registration excerise in the northern region but when he got to parts of the Ashanti Region especially Tepa, he realized that the registration agents of the New Patriotic Party were unnecessarily challenging Ewes and Northerners resident in the area with the reason they are not Ghanaians.
Mr. Joshua Akamba explained that, “in Tepa there are a lot of problems with the registration excerise here because, the New Patriotic Party agents here have challenged over fifty Northerners and Ewes with the reason that they are not Citizens of Ghana even though they the people are residents of the area.”
