NTC to cancel examination for traditional subjects in 2024

Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has hinted that, there will be no examination for the traditional subjects in 2024 and beyond.

According to the National Teaching Council, the registration for the 2022 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) 2 is for re-sit candidates and those who completed their education programmes in 2021 or before.

They explained that, due to the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) reforms which is to be implemented next year, the Council is giving three chances to candidates who are associated with the traditional GTLE (Essential Professional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy) to redeem themselves.

NTC further clarified that, this registration for 2022 GTLE 2 is one of the three chances, the two others will be conducted next year.

“After the three chances, there will be no examination for the traditional subjects in 2024 and beyond.” NTC explained.

Meanwhile, the Council again said, any candidate of the traditional GTLE who would like to write Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) again will have to start afresh with the GTLE dispensation in 2024 and beyond.
