Oguaa Hall President has led seven hundred (700) students on a memorable Akwaaba Tour to Kakum National Park and the Elmina Castle.
On 15th February 2025, the President of Oguaa Hall, UCC, Sunday, led an exciting Akwaaba Tour with his affiliates to Kakum National Park and Elmina Castle. The initiative aimed to strengthen bonds among students while providing an opportunity to explore Ghana’s rich history and natural heritage.
According to reports, the tour had an estimated 700 students, who were transported in six fully loaded buses. Participants expressed excitement as they set off for their first destination, Kakum National Park, where they had the thrilling experience of walking across the Canopy Walkway. Many students reportedly described the moment as breathtaking, as they took in the panoramic views of the rainforest and enjoyed the adventure together.
The tour continued to the Elmina Castle, where students had the chance to learn about Ghana’s colonial past and the impact of the transatlantic slave trade. Some attendees mentioned that walking through the historic walls of the castle was both emotional and educational, deepening their appreciation for Ghana’s history and the resilience of its people.
Beyond the sightseeing experience, reports indicated that the leadership of Oguaa Hall ensured that all participants were well taken care of by providing food, refreshments, and special gifts. Many students expressed gratitude for the kind gesture, emphasizing how it added to the overall experience of the tour.
