Organised Labour announces fixed date for nationwide strike

Organised Labour, in an official release, has announced a fixed date for nationwide strike action.
The release to this effect was signed jointly by the following leaders- Joshua Ansah, Secretary General of Trades Union Congress (TUC), Isaac Bampoe Addo (Chairman, FORUM), and Kenneth Κoomson Deputy, the Secretary of General Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL).
At an emergency meeting held on October 1, 2024 by Organised Labour, it was detailed that following the expiration of their deadline, and the failure of government to meet their demands on illegal mining (galamsey) they (Organised Labour) has decided to declare a nationwide strike with effect from October 10, 2024.
Due to the above update by Organised Labour, they have called on all workers to stay at home until the government accede to their demands.
“We are therefore, calling on all workers to stay at home starting Thursday, October 10, 2024 until government accede to our demands,” Organised Labour stressed.
