Our COVID-19 fight thus far has been admirable – Information Minister

The Minister of Information, Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has expressed satisfaction in the government’s fight against the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.

Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah happily said the Coronavirus/COVID-19 fight thus far has been admirable among others across the globe. He revealed this at government’s Nation Building Updates on Protecting Lives and Livelihoods in the midst of crises.

In a statement, the Information Minister noted that, the New Patriotic Party government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has provided numerous interventions to protect lives and livelihoods even as we fight to eradicate the virus totally.

According to him, It is for this reason that his colleague Ministers such as Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, Hon. Robert Ahomka-Lindsay and Hon. Abena Asare-Osei  took to the stage at the Academy of Arts and Sciences to explain in detail how government has through the numerous interventions protected Ghanaians in the midst of the wide spread virus.

His comment came shortly after the Republic of Ghana was ranked third best country in COVID-19 management across the globe.

In a report put out by a Chinese Firm Yicai Global, the Republic of Ghana is ranked among some top performing countries in the world for effective management of the novel Coronavirus.

According to the survey, the Republic of Ghana came just behind China and Sri Lanka ahead of other top countries.

The report available scored Ghana 58.8% with third position, Sri Lanka scored 59.2% with second position while China was ranked first with a percentage of 68.1%.

According to the Ghana Health Service statistics, Ghana’s active case was 398 with 46,664 recoveries (98.5%) as of 16th October, 2020.
