Over 200 Sub Chiefs to accompany Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to Hogbetsotso Festival

The 2022 edition of the Hogbetsotso Festival in the Volta is coming off in November 2022 with a lot of interesting and educative cultural activities. The festival which is set to be hosted in Keta in the Volta Region will host a number of Chiefs, Paramount Chiefs and sub chiefs across the country.

Many of the chiefs and traditional as well as religious leaders in Ghana have been invited to join in the celebration, and the Asantehene, His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II was not left out. It has been revealed that the Asantehene will be accompanied by a large delegation with about 200 sub chiefs.

As expected and as custom demands, a King, chief or traditional leader does not travel alone but moves with kinsmen and sub chiefs, it has however surprised many people, the number of people the Ashanti King will be traveling with.

A list that flooded the internet on 1st November, 2022 which had the names and positions of the sub chiefs that will be part of Otumfour Osei Tutu’s entourage to the festival seems to have triggered a lot of Ghanaians. This is because most citizens think it is ridiculous to travel for a festival with such a large number of people.
