Following the passing of Ghanaian Footballer and Philanthropist, Christian Atsu Twasam, a delegation from the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture on behalf of the Parliament of Ghana took time off their busy schedules and paid a condolence visit to his residence on Thursday, 2nd March, 2023.

The delegation was made up of the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Member for Berekum West, Mr. Kwaku Agyenim-Boateng and the Ranking Member of the Committee, Hon. Member for South Tongu, Mr. Wisdom Kobena Woyome and five (5) other Hon. Members in the persons of Mr. Benson Tongo Baba (Hon. Member for Talensi), Mr Henry Yiadom Boakye (Hon. Member for Akwatia), Dr. Kwamena Mintah Nyarku (Hon. Member for Cape Coast North), Mr. Daniel Ohene Darko ( Hon. Member for Upper Denkyira North) and Mr Alhassan Kobina Ghansah (Hon. Member for Asikuma/Odoben/Brakwa).

The Hon. Chairman on behalf of the delegation expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Ghana. Having fond memories of the late football star, the Hon. Chairman lauded the Ghanaian football star for making the days of his life count by living a purpose-filled life. He recalled the sacrifices he made for the national team and his charitable endeavors in his community and country as a whole. The Hon. Chairman again on behalf of the delegation expressed the Committee’s desire to assist the family in any way possible when the need arises.

The delegation presented to the bereaved family packs of mineral water and an envelope of undisclosed amount as a sign of support which was much appreciated by the family.
