Government of Ghana has commemorate the iron ore exploration in Oti Region.
The Oti Regional Minister, Hon. Daniel Machator joined officials to commemorate the commencement of the core drilling activities for iron ore in his area of control, Region.
On 30th July 2024, the Oti Regional Minister joined officials from the Africa Exploration and Minerals Group Limited, the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC) the Ghana Geological Survey Authority and the District Chief Executive of Kadjebi at Gyamlome to commemorate the commencement of the core drilling activities for iron ore in the area.
The commemoration marks a significant milestone in the government’s ongoing efforts to ascertain the Mineral Estimation on the Gyamlome -Wawaso Block.
“It was refreshing to be taken through the exploration process on the exploration pad as my team had the opportunity to see and feel the raw ore deposits which were to be taken to the lab for further and necessary assessments.”
“I earlier attended a durbar of chiefs and people of Gyamlome during which I implored the exploration company to make use of the Community Liaison Committee that had been set up to promote engagement between the community, the project team and other stakeholders,” Hon. Machator stated
Further, he assured the community members that the government would prioritise their welfare throughout the process and would only promote collaborations that would ensure the development of the community.
