The Vice President of Ghana His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has applauded his boss, the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his election as the Chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
According to Dr. Bawumia, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is an epitome of leadership in history of Ghana.

In his congratulatory message, he noted that, Nana Akufo-Addo’s election as the ECOWAS chairman is a confirmation of his stellar leadership that we experience every day in Ghana.
He further said, as the world transition through the new-normal, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s visionary leadership will be instrumental for ECOWAS member States.

BACKGROUND
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was earlier today, 7th September, 2020 elected as new the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), at the ongoing 57th Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, which is being held in Niamey, capital of the Republic of Niger.
The meeting of the Heads of State is discussing matters pertaining to the COVID-19 situation in West Africa, the ECOWAS Single Currency Programme, and the political impasse in Mali.
