Prince Kofi Amoabeng endorses John Mahama as the best choice to lead Ghana

Former Ghana Armed Forces personnel and founder of the now-defunct UT Bank, Capt. (rtd) Prince Kofi Amoabeng, has expressed his support for former President John Dramani Mahama as the ideal leader for Ghana at present.

He said, I believe that Mahama, who is the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), possesses the necessary experience from his previous term in office to effectively steer the country towards progress.

During an interview on Kingdom FM on October 26, 2023, Amoabeng emphasized that Mahama is aware of the mistakes he made during his previous term and is determined not to repeat them.

“When I look at President Mahama, what I can say is that we have never had someone who has been president before and then became president again, except for Mahama. Therefore, in my opinion, it is worth giving Mahama another chance because he has already been in that position. If UT Bank were to be restored to its former state and I returned, would I make the same mistakes? Absolutely not. I am fully aware of the mistakes I made.” He stated.

Amoabeng urged Ghanaians to seriously consider supporting Mahama’s leadership bid in the upcoming 2024 elections. He believes that Mahama, having reflected on his previous tenure, would have regrets and a strong desire to implement necessary changes.

Amoabeng also highlighted Mahama’s humane nature and humility as additional qualities that make him suitable for the role.

Amoabeng reiterated his belief that Mahama, despite potentially being misled on certain issues during his first term, would not allow history to repeat itself.
