The Queen Mothers of the North Tongu Constituency in Volta Region has enstooled the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as Mama Yingor I.
North Tongu Queen Mothers who enstooled the Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang hail from six traditional areas thus; Dorfor, Battor, Volo, Fodzoku, Mepe and Torgorme.
The enstoolment of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang took place on Tuesday, 27th October, 2020 as she begins her three-days campaign tour to the Volta Region.
In conferring the title, the Queen Mothers described her as a phenomenal trailblazer who continues to serve as a worthy role model inspiring many young women. They are confident she will make a great Vice President.
The Queen Mothers of the area used the visit of the NDC’s Running Mate to honour and install her under the stool name, Mama Yingor I literally meaning ‘Progress or Forward Ever’ not only for her contribution to the development of the country but also for her sterling leadership qualities as a woman of substance over the years. As part of the customary rites, Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang was decorated with Kente Cloth, Scarf, Beads and ‘Oheneba’ in addition to a stool on which she sat during the brief but impressive ceremony.
