Rebecca Akufo-Addo commissions a 16-bed health facility at Kwame Anum in Ga Municipality

The first lady of the Republic of Ghana Her Excellency Rebecca Akufo-Addo has commissioned a 16-bed health facility at Kwame Anum in Ga Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

In a short ceremony organized on 1st September, 2020 to officially handover the project, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo disclosed that, the 16-bed facility was constructed by the Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation and co-founded in 2005 by Rebecca Foundation.

The newly built health centre is fitted with an outpatient department, a delivery room, labour ward, a reproductive and Child health area, two consulting rooms, a pharmacy, a laboratory and administrative offices.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo said, the 16-bed facility will provide services to a population of about 30,000 people within the Obom Domeabra constituency of the Ga South Municipality, with about 8,500 patients expected to be attended to in its first year.

She further said, the Kwame Anum Health Centre, will also provide lifesaving and essential services such as immunization against the 13 childhood killer diseases and provide care in maternal, child health and ​nutrition.
