WAEC Releases Regional Breakdown of 2021 BECE Candidates

1. The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the Regional Breakdown of the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for school Candidates.Coverghana.com.gh has gathered.

2. According to the data, a total of 571,894 candidates were registered representing 287,605 male candidates and 284,289 female candidates.

3. The data shows that, 18,028 participating schools were registered for the examination at 2,158 examination centres.

4. Meanwhile, 2,158 supervisors, 1,853 assistance supervisors and 20,124 invigilators have been assigned for the conduct of the 2021 BECE across the country.

5. Even though some regions were paired in the data collection, the Ashanti Region has registered the highest number of candidates this year representing a total of 111,432 candidates followed by Greater Accra that registered 105,539 candidates.

6. The WAEC data was based on the old ten (10) Regional boundaries.

7. This year’s BECE has commenced on Monday, 15th November, 2021 and will end end on Friday, 19th November, 2021 across the 2,158 examination centres.
