The Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church Rev. Dr. Setorwu Kwadzo Ofori, on behalf of the Svnod Committee Executive of the Global Evangelical Church sends a Christmas and a New year message to all.

Season’s greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. We have every reason to be thankful to God for keeping us safe throughout this year. Indeed, the year 2020 has been very challenging but our God has been faithful. We should be particularly grateful to the Lord for how he led our nation Ghana through the COVID-19 pandemic scare.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, this Yuletide, should be a period dedicated to sober reflections. Just as we prepare physically to receive our guests, we should all be making frantic efforts to receive Christ and live for him as his second coming is imminent. Everybody ought to know that, unlike his first coming when he came as a Saviour, he would come as an impartial judge when he
appears again. For this reason, I wish to make this passionate appeal to every individual, especially those who are yet to receive Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour, to prepare their hearts to recive the King of kings.

As we are aware, Christmas brings good tidings. For this reason, let us share this good news with all and sundry. Like the three Magi who visited Jesus with gitts of gold, and of incense and of myrrh as recorded in Mathew 2:ll, let us remember to share not only the gospel but also our possessions with all especially the have nots.

Let us also remind ourselves of the existence of the Coronavirus and strictly observe all the safety protocols during the holidays.

As we enter into the year 2021, it is appropriate to march on with this resolve to let go of the past and open up to a brighter future. I urge each and every one of us to develop this consciousness, where in every situation, we ask this one most important question “what will Jesus do? I am hopeful that, when every Ghanaian develops this Christ-like attitude in every situation, our homeland will become a paradise here on earth where peace and truth will reign.
