Roads Minister assures Volta Region road contractors as they threatened to lay down their tools

The Minister for Roads, Hon. Kwasi Amoako Atta has assured road contractors in the Volta region to keep to work as his ministry is in the process of disbursing funds to contractors within ten days.
The announcement seems to have brought some form of relief to road contractors who say they are keeping faith with the minister by using all their resources in their various ongoing construction works.
Work steadily progresses on Hohoe-Jasikan stretch of Eastern corridor road
One of our Reporters Christian Ahodie has been checking on whether contractors who are waiting to be paid are still working.
Various road construction projects which was halted for review are currently ongoing but the contractors after mobilizing to site are expecting to be paid to be able to continue with work.
Coverghana.com.gh news’ sources can report that, some major contractors are threatening to laydown their tools until they are paid fully.

But addressing newsmen in Ho, the Minister of Roads Kwasi Amoako Atta noted his ministry is in the final stage to disburse monies owe contractors within the next ten day to ensure that the various road constructions are completed on time.
When Coverghana.com.gh reporters visited some of the ongoing road construction site including the Eastern Corridor road and the UHAS road that the President just cut the sod for construction, contractors Green house and GS international including rollider and first Sky are on the site working.

Even though they will not speak to our cameras, they told us they are running out of patience as they need funds for a smooth operation.
Some of the people we spoke to lament over what they described as the delay in completing the Eastern Corridor road and plead with government to ensure the road is completed.
The 51 kilometre road from Have to Hohoe when completed will boost the socio-economic lives of the people of in the Volta Region and Oti Region.
