SAD: Nigerian fans stampede a CAF Medical Officer to death in Abuja

An official of the Confederation of African Football has died, following the disturbances that followed the aftermath of the Nigeria and Ghana FIFA World Cup qualifier in Abuja on Tuesday night.
Dr. Joseph Kabungo, a Zambian medical practitioner, is reported that have lost consciousness after he was beaten and stepped on as fans tried to make their way out of the stadium due to the stampede.
He was CAF’s designated Doping Officer for the game between Ghana and Nigeria.

In a post on Twitter by British-Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, his death was confirmed after he was rushed to the hospital.
According to out sources, some notorious fans of the Super Eagles invaded the pitch leading to the death Zambian Medical Officer.
The angry fans of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has caused a mayhem after the qualification match between Nigeria and Ghana.
He lost conscious while rushing to the ambulance closer to the Ghana dressing for CPR. The entire Ghanaian contingent watched the rescue attempts where oxygen mask was used to save his life before his demise news came out.

The attack on the Zambia Doctor incidence occurred just after the match yesterday where a group frustrated Nigeria fans invaded the pitch, destroying assets of the stadium and launching their frustrated cries on the supporters of the Black Stars.
