Samia Suluhu Hassan is a Tanzanian politician and the 6th President of Tanzania. She has been in office as President since 2021.
She belongs to the Social democrat, Chama Cha Mapinduzi political party. Suluhu is the third female head of Government in an East African country and the first ever female President of Tanzania.

Samia Suluhu Hassan having had her basic education in Makunduchi, Tanzania where she was born and raised, she proceeded to the Mzumbe University in Tanzania.
She earned her first educational certificate, an Advanced Diploma (Adv Dip) from the Mzumbe University in Tanzania. In 2005, she had a second degree in management and planning at the Southern New Hamsphire university, a private university in England.
She then furthered and had her post graduate education in Economics at the University of Manchester, also in England  and finished with a PhD.
Samia Suluhu holds an MSc In community Economic Development from the Open University of Tanzania.
