Famous Ghanaian musician, Sarkodie has spoken on the Electronic Transactions Levy that the current Government is seeking to impose on citizens.
E-levy has become the new topic in the country as the President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo led Government is seeking to impose an E-levy of 1.7% on citizens per every electronic payment via mobile money among others.
A fan of Sarkodie reached out to Sarkodie to make his stance on the new tax which the Government intends to impose on Ghanaians known.
Sarkodie who in the run-up to the 2020 general election supported this government in his lyrics in his statement on the E-levy said that he lays tax when he travels to other countries because those systems allow him to make money but it is not the same in Ghana.
In a tweet, Sarkodie said “I pay a lot of taxes outside and I don’t complain because I’m using avenues they made available to make 💰( it’s only right ) it’s not same here and that’s why we complain not because the “E Levy” is bad . When you broke, a harmless “good morning “ can sound like a tease”

It is however unclear if by this statement, Sarkodie is against or in support of the Electronic Transactions Levy.
