Sarkodie’s reply to Yvonne Nelson is like taking a gun to paper fight – Akosua Hanson

The Queen of the Evening Radio Show, Akosua Hanson has reacted to Sarkodie’s address to Yvonne Nelson’s allegations in the song “Try Me”.

The media personality Akosua Hanson said the Highest, Sarkodie’s reply to Yvonne Nelson is like taking a gun to paper fight.

She added that the rapper failed to exhibit maturity in his submission. Sarkodie should record another version of “Try Me” which should be laced with maturity and a perfect reply to the allegation(s) raised by Yvonne Nelson in her memoir “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson” because the released “Try Me” did not address the allegations maturely.

Breaking down “Try Me” technically, Miss Hanson listed three (3) elements of a rap battle. She mentioned: insults, wordplay, and boasting with the result of cutting down the opponent.

She also explained that “Battle rap is always vicious. What makes it a punch is that they pull on what society finds painful.”

Further in her submission, she disclosed said “However, from excerpts I have read and discussions about Yvonne Nelson’s book, it felt like Sarkodie was bringing a gun into what was literally a paper fight…there so many people who attack Sarkodie all the time, and he rarely responds, but in a case where he didn’t need it at all, he brought it”.

From the masses’ point of view, both parties used the tool/medium they are well-versed in so people shouldn’t express disappointment and call for another version of “Try Me” to address the allegations raised against Sarkodie among other empathetic reactions.

Yvonne Nelson employed the book to tell her part of the narrative while Sarkodie also used rap or music to tell his part of the story.
