School Selection Process for BECE Candidates to Start Aug 23

According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), the school selection into senior high school for 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) applicants will begin on Wednesday, August 23.

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations of the Ghana Education Service Cassandra Twum Ampofo on Friday, August 11, 2023, the service said it will conduct sensitisation and education on this year’s guidelines in all regions and schools before the exercise.

The sensitization campaign, which will feature an instructive film that explains the school selection criteria, is set to begin on Friday, August 18.

PUBLIC EDUCATION AND SENSITIZATION ON SCHOOL SELECTION 2023

Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform the general public
particularly Parents, Candidates and Teachers that the sensitization and education on this year’s guidelines for school selection into Senior High Schools will commence Friday 18th August, 2023.

This exercise will take place in all the respective Regional, District Education Directorates and schools.

Management further informs stakeholders that the selection of schools is scheduled from 23rd August to 4th September 2023.
Parents and guardians are particularly advised to take keen interest in the selection of schools processes to ensure a smooth Placement this year.

Again, there would be an opportunity for candidates to text to a short code and confirm their school choices before actual Placement will be done. Details of the short code will be made available in due course.
