South Dayi GES Director urges parents to invest in their children

The District Director of Education for South Dayi in the Volta Region, Madam Janet Valerie Datsa-Agbotse has urged parents to invest in their children and make sure they are feed well before they report to school.

According to her, parents form part of key stakeholders in the education sector hence entreats them to contribute positively to the development and success of their wards education.

She was speaking at the commissioning ceremony of a 6 unit classroom block funded by GET FUND at New Kaira D/A Basic School on August 13, 2021.

She added that, parents must endure to keep their wards neat and keep their uniform and nose masks clean before they get into the new classroom for learning.

Madam Datsa Agbotse reiterated that the building of the  Kindergarten block will start in a   short time to help improve upon the standard of education within the area.

The District Chief Executive for South Dayi, Mr. Ernest Patrick Mallet has called on parents to allow their children to attend school because education is key the to success and it is the only thing that can be given to children.

He said parents who will not allow their children to go to school will be dealt with according by using the law. Ernest Patrick also entreated parents to cultivate the habit of reading into their children and also  encourage them to participate in this year’s NBA reading  competition because a handsome reward awaits the winer.

Mr. Mallet again entreated teachers, chiefs and parents to take proper care of the building. The chairman of school management Committee (SMC) Mr. Francis Segbefia, thanks government all powers that be for the project and appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government and benevolent to come to their aid to build teachers bungalow, Computer laboratory, playing ground and football filed for the school.

Chiefs, Parents and pupils were pleased after the commissioning of the classroom block because the pupils have been studying on the corridor and under tree for ages.

The GET FUND project which started in 2011 under the previous government has been completed in 2020 and Commissioned on  August 13, 2021 for the pupils of New Kaira D/A Basic school.
