Staff Vacancy: Appointment of Principal, College for Distance and e-Learning
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is inviting applications from suitably qualified competent individuals to occupy the position of Principal, College for Distance and e-Learning.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Principal is charged to act as the Academic and Administrative Head of the College.
The Principal is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for providing leadership to the College and for maintaining and providing efficiency and good governance of the College in accordance with policies and procedures prescribed by the Act and Statutes of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
The university, UEW published that the candidate seeking appointment as Principal must meet the following requirements:
- An internationally acclaimed scholar of Professorial Status.
- A Ph.D. holder in Education or Applied Sciences or Social Sciences or Humanities.
- A distinguished scholar with capacity to motivate and direct staff.
- A person of high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills and must be above reproach.
- An individual of stature and integrity with excellent communication and inter-personal skills and capacity to manage and control crisis.
- Visionary, business-oriented and able to establish rapport between industry and the University.
- Sober with maturity and drive for sound and impartial judgement.
- Able to attract grants and funds for Research and Development activities for the College.
- Able to implement the policy decisions affecting the College.
TERMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPOINTMENT
The publication stated that the appointment will be a full-time work.
A successful applicant should be able to serve:
- at least four (4) years starting from 1st October 2023 to 30th September 2027 before reaching the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60).
- In addition, the said successful candidate shall be expected to assume duty by 1st October, 2023 till the end of his tenure.
