In a landmark victory, David Asiedu Korankye and his Vice Presidential candidate, Asare Sandra Yaa Dukwa, known under the teaser “Team Sunday,” have secured the Oguaa Hall Presidency at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
Team Sunday garnered 1,198 votes, representing 78.4% of the total vote, far ahead of their competitors.
Team Sir Richie, their closest rival, received 235 votes (15.4%), while Team Dr Ray earned 48 votes (3.1%). Another team managed just 38 votes, representing 2.5%.
Korankye’s victory can be attributed to his innovative strategies and dedication to the welfare of Oguaa Hall affiliates.
Offering free repair services for electrical appliances and prioritizing student concerns earned him widespread support.
His commitment to serving the needs of the students has established him as a leader who genuinely cares for his community.
With this win, Team Sunday sets a new benchmark in Oguaa Hall leadership, as Korankye prepares to lead with the same passion and service that won him the election.
Before the Oguaa Hall Presidency election, David Asiedu Korankye with an impressive lead of nearly 1000 votes, Korankye has made history as the first SRC Representative 1 (SRC REP 1) to contest and win the Oguaa Hall Presidency.
Notably, he is also the youngest Oguaa Hall President in the past eight years.
Korankye’s leadership journey began with a remarkable victory as SRC REP 1, where he won by over 500 votes, surpassing four other candidates.
His popularity soared despite challenges, such as his ballot (#5) being difficult to locate on the voting screens due to its position.
