Sam Nartey George, MP for Ningo Prampram Constituency
The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram constituency has reacted to the arrest of journalists, Caleb Kudah and Zoe Abu-Baidoo of Citi TV.
The two journalists Caleb Kudah and Zoe Abu-Baidoo of Citi TV were arrested for filming at a National Security Installation.
Reacting to the news Samuel Nartey George described the arrest of the two journalists as crude, archaic and senseless.
According to the lawmaker, the act of arresting and intimidating journalists is simply unacceptable and that no Government whether the National Democratic Congress or the New Patriotic Party should actively work to silence the voice of citizens.
In a Facebook post, Hon. Samuel Nartey George said;
The arrest of Caleb Kudah and Zoe Abu-Baidoo is so crμde, ar¢haic and s€nsel€ss. Why should any public officer be worried about videos of their public activity?
The media has been complicit in the perpetuation of these sh¶meless acts of intimidation and today it has come after them sadly. No government, NDC or NPP, should actively be working to shut out voices of the citizenry.
It is simply unacceptable.”
