There’s no evidence in Frimpong-Boateng’s galamsey report – Attorney-General to Ghana Police

The office of the Attorney-General Godfred-Dame says there is no clear evidence in the report of Professor Frimpong Boateng which was based on his research on the exposé of illegal mining activities in the country and the stakeholders involved.
According to the investigative report of the professor signed by himself and dated 19th March 2019 ( Report on work of IMCIM so far and the way forward), he clearly identified names and believed were all stakeholders of the illegal mining in the country.

The names were, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Charles Owusu, Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, Reynold Kwabi, Laud Commey, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, Hon. Joseph Albert Quarm and finally Edmund Kojo Koda.
All the above names cited by the Professor after interrogation by the police denied the allegations.

In a letter from the office of the Attorney-General dated 12th September 2023 and signed by Evelyn D. Keelson to the Ghana Police Service stated,
“Apart from the statement of Seth Mantey and the attached statements of account from NIB which provides some evidence in support of the allegations against Seth Mantey, John Ofori Atta and Ekow Ewusi, none of the above mentioned documents provide any relevant information in support of the allegations made by the report by the Professor ”
