Speaking at Sela Radio during a holiday engagement for Southern Volta MPs on Monday, 11th July, 2022, Hon. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey again said, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed a Chief Executive Officer for the non-existing Keta port and being paid salary montly from the consolidated Fund.

He also described the Keta Port project as a job for the boys.

The MP believes that, the attitude of Akufo-Addo’s NPP government so far on the Keta Port is a disgrace and an insult to the constituents of Keta and its environs.

In the run-up to the 2016 general elections, the then opposition leader and Flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP promised the people of the Anloland and Volta, as part of their campaign promise, to construct a Sea Port at Keta when voted into office.

According to him, for about 6 years in government, nothing concrete has been done to actualize the construction of such a facility apart from the erection of a sign post, empty containers and street light on the proposed site for the project.

The development of Keta Port has always been the dream of the people of the Volta Region in general especially Keta and its environs.

All the attempts been made by the chiefs and people of the Volta Region to ensure successful construction of the Keta Port by the NPP government as promised has failed.
