Troy Kenneth Aikman known widely as Troy Aikman is a former American football quarterback who had a successful career in the National Football League (NFL) playing for the Dallas Cowboys for 12 seasons. Before joining the NFL, Aikman played college football for the UCLA Bruins, having transferred from the Oklahoma Sooners. During his senior year, he was honored with the Davey O’Brien Award. In the 1989 NFL Draft, Aikman was chosen as the first overall pick by the Cowboys. Throughout his career, he received six Pro Bowl selections and achieved the remarkable feat of winning three Super Bowls.
Aikman’s exceptional performance in Super Bowl XXVII led to him being named the Most Valuable Player, securing the Cowboys’ first championship in over a decade. In recognition of his accomplishments, Aikman was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
