UCC printing press supports Apewosika Basic School with educational materials

On December 8, 2023, the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Printing Press made a generous donation to Apewosika Basic School, consisting of exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, and other essential educational materials.
The aim of this donation was to supplement the efforts of parents in meeting the academic needs of their children.
During the presentation ceremony held at the school premises, Mrs. Mary Quainoo Boadi-Kusi, the Manager of University Press, expressed the firm’s commitment to giving back to society as part of its corporate social responsibility.
She encouraged the school pupils to take their education seriously and utilize the donated books effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
Mrs. Alberta Yaa Graham, the Director of the Directorate of Consular and General Services at UCC, highlighted that this gesture aligns with the university’s longstanding policy of reaching out to communities within its catchment area.
Over the years, the university has provided assistance to schools in various forms and will continue to do so to enhance the quality of education.
The Headmistress of Apewosika Basic School, Mrs. Elizabeth Brew-Wartengberg, expressed her gratitude to the University Press for the generous donation. She emphasized that the lack of basic educational materials often hinders students from attending school.
Mrs. Brew-Wartengberg expressed optimism that the books and other educational materials would significantly improve learning outcomes in the school. She also appealed to other corporate organizations to follow the example set by the University Press and extend similar support to the school.
