The Former President John Dramani Mahama is the brain behind the building of University of Ghana Medical Centre, NDC has disclosed.

According to the National Democratic Congress, the UG Medical Centre was built to aid the work of the Ministry of Health as a way of helping humanity largely.

It was built to cater specialists care in areas including cardiology, urology, ophthalmology ear, nose, and throat, dermatology, interventional radiology and neurology (cancers).

The Medical Centre is a voluminous centre made up of eight (8) seperate buildings, houses, specialised areas like; a computer room, emergency, laboratories, operating theatres.

In addition, the facility contains an orthopaedic centre, a maternity, paediatric clinics, an in-patient medical training facility, staff accommodation and a maintenance n logistics building.

There’s a cancer management facility located in the Medical Centre. A medical hotel for consulting specialists including an assisted reproductive technology which will provide fertility solutions.

Also, it has a helipad that can airlift emergency cases to the centre right way.

It is the duty of the country to nurture it with the maintenance culture and employ the required and qualified health experts to put the excellent Medical Centre to a satisfactory use.
