UHAS wins youth and rural women Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition
Winners of Youth and Rural Women Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition (EPC) from UHAS
A group of talented students from the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health (FNBSPH) at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ghana have emerged as the winners of the highly competitive Youth and Rural Women Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition (EPC).
The event took place on September 14, 2023, at the prestigious Accra International Conference Centre, as part of the Ghana Industrial Summit and Exhibition (GISE).
The winning project, titled “Youth and Rural Women Entrepreneurship: Creating and Sustaining Alternative Livelihood Options in Ghana,” garnered significant attention and impressed the judges with its innovative approach to empowering young entrepreneurs and rural women in the country.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between FNBSPH, McGill University, the University of Ghana Nutrition Research and Training Centre (NRTC), the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).
The team’s groundbreaking project aims to address the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs and rural women in accessing economic opportunities and creating sustainable livelihoods. By providing comprehensive support, training, and resources, the initiative seeks to foster entrepreneurship and equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to establish successful businesses.
