University of Cape Coast presents Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup to security section

The management of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) recently handed over a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup to the Security Section, aiming to bolster their fleet and enhance operational capabilities.

The provision of this vehicle will facilitate efficient night patrols and surveillance activities carried out by the Security Section within the university campus and the surrounding communities.

During the official presentation of the vehicle at the Institute of Education, Mr. Jeff Onyame, the Registrar, reiterated the management’s unwavering commitment to establishing a robust Security Section capable of ensuring the safety and security of both staff and students.

Accompanied by Mrs. Alberta Yaa Graham, the Director of the Directorate of Consular and General Services, Mr. Onyame symbolically cut the tape to mark the inauguration of the vehicle, signifying the commencement of its active duty.

Furthermore, Mr. Onyame emphasized the shared responsibility of safety and security among all members of the university community, urging staff and students to remain vigilant and proactive in this regard.

The Registrar assured the Security Section of continuous support from the management, particularly in the provision of necessary logistics to empower them in their mission to safeguard lives and properties within the university premises.

He also urged the Security Section personnel to ensure the proper maintenance of the vehicle and to exclusively utilize it for its designated purpose.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the university, Mrs. Alberta Yaa Graham, the Director of the Directorate of Consular and General Services, commended the management for their generous donation. She expressed confidence that the new vehicle would significantly enhance the mobility and effectiveness of the Security Section personnel in the discharge of their duties.

Mrs. Graham, upon receiving the keys to the vehicle, reassured the management that it would be utilized judiciously, with the primary objective of reducing crime on campus and in the neighboring communities.

In response, Col. Joseph Kojo Baah-Tsiquaye (rtd.), the Head of the Security Section, expressed sincere appreciation to the management for their unwavering support. He pledged that the vehicle would be diligently maintained to ensure its optimal functionality and purposeful utilization.

Col. Baah-Tsiquaye assured the university community that the Security Section would continue to work tirelessly to create a safe and secure environment for all. He further called upon different sections, units, individuals, and organizations within the university to complement the management’s efforts by providing the Security Section with essential tools to enhance their operations.
