According to the Ghana Statistical Service, the unemployment rate in Ghana is 4.33% of the total labor force of the country which means many of youth in the country Cannot be gainfully employed because there are no avenues for them to be employed.
However, in the face of such huge unemployment rate in the country, a company called DAC farms Ghana Limited in the Volta Region has created massive employment for the youth in the region.
A visit by coverghana to DAC farms Ghana Limited shows that, the farm is a commercial farm situated at Dorkplorme in the South Tongu district of the Volta Region of Ghana has created over two hundred (200) direct jobs and over two thousand (2000) indirect jobs which has reduced the unemployment rate in the area and the country at large.
DAC farms Ghana Limited is into the commercial production of agricultural produce such as garden eggs, pepper, rice, corn, cassava and a cashew plantation. The company also have a livestock section with cattle and a fish farm with fish ponds as large as 200 metres square.
Speaking to the director of DAC farms Ghana Limited, the director’s message was simple ” DAC farms have come to produce food for our country and create employment for the youth.”
The managers of DAC farms Ghana Limited also who are also the operators Joy Lottery have also drilled many boreholes for communities without portable water in the catchment area of the farms.
