UPSA Vice Chancellor Prof Okoe Amartey adjudged as Education CEO of the Year
Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has been declared the winner of the CEO of the Year in the Education category at the 2023 Ghana CEO Awards.
Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey won the award due to his role in innovative leadership and ambitious initiatives championed under his belt in order to promote access to quality education.
This year, 2023 marks the second time Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey has won the same award proving that his championed initiatives are what the masses needed to access the quality education he also talks about.
The award was received on his behalf by the Pro Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor.
The ceremony took place at the Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel, Accra on the 30th of September 2023 where more than fifty (50) CEOs were celebrated. Also, business leaders from both the public and private sectors were celebrated for their humongous contributions to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG Goals) in Ghana.
Speaking at the awards event, the CEO of the organizers (Globe Production), Latiff Abubakar stated point-blank that the awards are given to honour the efforts of visionaries who have not given up amid storms and thunder to unleash their ideas by seeing it to becoming a reality and impacting myriad souls.
In attendance were several notable prominent personalities both in Ghana and outside the country. They are King Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse; Harriet Thompson, the British High Commissioner to Ghana; Javier Gutierrez, Spanish Ambassador to Ghana; Charles Abani, UN Resident Coordinator; and Mark Okraku Mantey, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture.
The special guest of honour for the ceremony, Veep Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia congratulated the awardees and applauded their infused innovative business models which have promoted the SDGs.
Additionally, he called upon all business leaders in the country to collaborate with the government in order to achieve more of the SDGs and make the nation a more attractive destination for others.
