Ursula Owusu explains the difference between digitisation and digitalisation

The Communications Minister Designate Honourable Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has given a clear different between digitisation and digitalisation.

The Ablekuma West Constituency Member of Parliament in statement said, digitisation is just the process of converting analogue information into a digital one and when this process is leveraged to improve upon business processes, it is called digitalisation.

According to her, using digital technologies and digitised data to input how work is done, transform how customers and companies engage and interact and create new revenue streams efficiently. He noted that, she is happy with the additional task by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his second term of office.

She further said, Ghana will be signed on to the Global Equipment identity Register which will ensure the device on which a registered Sim will be used to be registered hence upon missing, the device can be blocked. “Bad business for thieves.” She said.
